About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for command center duties and general patrol duties, including monitoring and reporting on CCTV for abnormalities or security issues and patrolling industrial and office premises to prevent and detect intrusion. This position works a night schedule Thursday through Sunday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. CST, and reports to the Security Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• 0–2 years of security experience.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Skill in using building security and lock systems and procedures.
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel, and to understand and follow specific safety procedures and instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, resolve customer complaints and concerns, gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
• Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED use.
• Certification as a Drug and Alcohol technician.

Nice To Haves

• Computer experience preferred.
• Military or Police Science background beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform command center duties and general security patrol duties.
• Monitor CCTV and report abnormalities or security issues.
• Patrol industrial and office premises to detect and deter intrusion and ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure.
• Provide clear, concise information to supervisors and co-workers by radio, in writing, electronically, or in person.
• Maintain certifications and perform CPR, First Aid, and AED duties.
• Serve as a certified Drug and Alcohol technician.
• Prepare for and assist with physical audits, and research and recommend solutions.
• Write reports on daily activities and irregularities, including equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, and unusual occurrences.
• Investigate and follow up on irregularities.
