About The Position

As a Security Officer Residential Shelter in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelters. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, floors, stairwells, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and resident activity, and report unusual conditions, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications accurately and promptly.
