Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and access points to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify credentials and authorize access in accordance with post orders and applicable procedures.
Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to incidents, patrols, observations, and security-related activities.
