About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a residential community in Costa Mesa, California. The officer will help safeguard residents, visitors, and staff by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, deterring unauthorized activity, and providing customer service. The role also involves communicating about security concerns and supporting access-control and alarm-related activities. The schedule is Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local rules.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and conducting emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, document observations, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and resident activity according to site-specific procedures.
Report maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and security-related incidents according to established reporting protocols.
