About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Branch Flex Officer to safeguard clients across a range of industries. The Security Officer Flex Access Control Relief role is based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and provides experience at a variety of sites and opportunities for career advancement. The position offers 30–40 hours per week. Scheduling varies from week to week and combines manager-assigned shifts with shifts picked up through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs. Candidates must be prepared to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends, and to travel to assigned locations. The pay rate is $19.22 per hour.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel the required distance to assigned work locations.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary under site Post Orders.
