About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Access Control in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The officer will safeguard clients across a range of industries, with assignments at changing sites and locations. The role offers 30–40 hours per week, with a schedule that varies based on manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly; irregular shifts may be assigned with little to no advance notice. Candidates must be adaptable and able to accommodate last-minute changes, varying shifts, and required travel distances. The pay rate is $18.44 per hour.

The position provides exposure to diverse work environments and opportunities to build security experience and pursue advancement. The role includes access control, patrols, monitoring for safety and security concerns, responding to emergencies, and preparing written reports and logs.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• Have reliable transportation and be able to travel the required distance to work locations.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling and adjust schedules with minimal notice.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if assigned to a driving position.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in cases of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
