About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The Security Officer Flex Access Control Relief role is based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and provides experience across varied sites and assignments, with opportunities for advancement.

The position offers 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary from week to week and combine manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly; officers must be prepared for irregular shifts and last-minute schedule changes with little to no advance notice. Work may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The pay rate is $18.13 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel varying distances to work locations.
• Must be available for last-minute shift scheduling and accommodate schedule changes with minimal notice.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
