About The Position

As a Airport Security Officer - Traffic Control in Kahului, HI, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of all passengers, staff, and airport facilities. Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• 21+ years of age
• Have ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam
• Ability to obtain AOA badge (Federal Background Check in ordinance with DOT requirements)
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and airport personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, unattended property, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating with site contacts and public agency partners as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public access areas, parking locations, roadways, and perimeter points to help identify unusual conditions and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points, observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, and report security-related concerns, hazards, and/or maintenance issues according to site procedures.
• Support crowd management, queue observation, and general public assistance during peak travel periods, special events, and/or operational disruptions at the location.
