About The Position

The Security Officer maintains a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property by monitoring and patrolling client premises. The role focuses on preventing unauthorized access, detecting suspicious activity, protecting industrial and commercial properties against fire, vandalism, and illegal entry, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Clients include office buildings, residential properties, distilleries, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and other organizations. This position is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is for the third shift, with weekend availability required and availability for multiple shifts preferred. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, security, and customer service. Training is provided, including training toward a Security Officer Certification.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 25 years of age.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug test.
Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with security systems, cameras, and basic office technology such as email and Microsoft Office.
A Security Officer License where applicable.
For posts requiring operation of a company vehicle, a screened motor vehicle record is required; accidents and violations are reviewed case by case.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
CPR/First Aid certification.
