About The Position

The Security Officer maintains a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property by monitoring and patrolling client premises. The role focuses on preventing unauthorized access, detecting suspicious activity, protecting industrial or commercial property against fire, vandalism, and illegal entry, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. It requires a commitment to safety, security, and customer service. Clients include office buildings, residential properties, distilleries, Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, manufacturing and industrial facilities, and hospitals. The position is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is for the third shift, with availability for multiple shifts and weekends preferred. Walden Security provides initial training toward Security Officer Certification and offers career-growth opportunities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 25 years of age.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug test.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with security systems, cameras, and basic office technology, such as email and Microsoft Office.
Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
For posts requiring a company vehicle, eligibility is limited to individuals over age 25 with a screened motor vehicle record; accidents and violations are reviewed case by case.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service; experience is not required, and training is provided.
Security Officer License where applicable.
CPR/First Aid Certification.
Availability to work multiple shifts and weekends.
