Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking locations, and the surrounding perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, unauthorized access attempts, and facility concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain required activity logs and documentation.
