About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Awareness in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a public-sector location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and work collaboratively with site personnel while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven values.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, visitors, and program participants by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, entrances, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
  • Support a respectful, professional environment at a government services location while helping to deter unauthorized access, property damage, and disruptive behavior.
