About The Position

As a Security Officer for Truck Gate Access in San Pedro, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional, welcoming experience for visitors and staff. Requirements

• At least 21 years of age is required.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, vendors, and/or employees while carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or delivery documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observed activity and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Support traffic flow at gates, docks, and other controlled areas by directing arrivals, communicating site access requirements, and maintaining orderly movement throughout the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, warehouse areas, and perimeter, noting unusual conditions and helping to identify potential security-related issues.
