About The Position

Tyson Foods is seeking a full-time 3rd shift Security Officer for its Prepared Foods business unit. This role is responsible for monitoring daily traffic entering and leaving the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel are granted access, and maintaining the physical security of the plant. The Security Officer will communicate with various individuals including truck drivers, vendors, customers, and team members, handle switchboard operations, and perform preliminary investigations of incidents.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or its equivalency.
  • Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills are a necessity, and applicant must possess the ability to interact respectfully with all Team Members, including Tyson Management.
  • Must have the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Checking identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facility.
  • Constant communication with truck drivers, vendors, customers of Tyson Foods, and Team Members.
  • Answering phones and communication with Material Handling on status of loads.
  • Monitoring what is being brought into and out of the facility and enforcing Tyson policy.
  • Checking all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etc.
  • Writing investigative reports.
  • Performing preliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed.
  • Roving or walking through the plant to check physical facility security.
  • Log truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspection of all motor vehicles driven into the plant.
  • Switchboard operations, two-way radio communication and intercom equipment.
  • Other job assignment duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
