About The Position

The Security Officer works under general supervision to provide a secure and safe environment for the protection of patients, visitors, physicians, hospital personnel, and hospital assets. This is a part-time overnight position, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for 24 hours per week, every other weekend from Friday through Monday.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• CPI non-violent crisis intervention training is required within the first 90 days of employment.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), with a recommended renewal date, is required within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience working in a hospital is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital buildings and grounds.
• Provide escort services for visitors and staff.
• Assist with controlling facility access and responding to monitoring systems.
• Assist staff with patient interventions and disruptions involving patients, visitors, or staff.
• Control vehicular and visitor traffic.
• Investigate thefts, disturbances, and suspicious activity.
• Maintain records and prepare incident reports.
• Enforce hospital safety and security policies and practices.
• Conduct disaster, fire, and hazard surveillance.
