As a Security Officer Screening Guide in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor assigned areas, screen people and/or packages, and help support a secure environment. This role includes maintaining a visible presence, conducting routine patrols, and delivering outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, packages, and/or personal property entering or leaving designated areas in accordance with post orders and applicable site procedures.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or shipping documentation, and report unusual activity, policy concerns, and/or restricted items to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate contacts and documenting security-related events.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, as assigned, noting conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptions to daily operations.
