About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for Transit Railyard Patrol Engagement in Hollis, NY. The position provides a designated site and dependable weekly anchor shift, requiring a six-month commitment. The scheduled shift is Saturday, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM. The officer may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with opportunities to build up to 40 hours per week and the option to scale back.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at rail transportation facilities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of stations, platforms, rail yards, parking areas, access points, and surrounding perimeters to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and verify credentials according to site-specific procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations, contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related activities according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
