Security Officer Part Time Security Screening
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location in Linden, New Jersey. The role involves maintaining a secure environment by monitoring access points, screening personnel and visitors, verifying credentials, and reporting security-related concerns. A visible presence and customer-focused communication help deter incidents while supporting daily operations. The position is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and pays $18.70 per hour. Officers may use the Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Applicable state or local licensing may be required before employment.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- State or local licensing may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees while following site-specific procedures and security policies.
- Screen personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering designated areas; verify credentials and direct individuals as needed.
- Monitor access points, loading areas, and package-handling locations for unusual activity and report observations to appropriate personnel.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations in accordance with site-specific emergency response procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, and perimeter.
