Security Officer - Part Time Screening

About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer serving as a screener at a logistics and distribution location in Indianapolis, Indiana, you will use screening equipment to support access control and help maintain a secure environment. You will interact professionally with employees and visitors, monitor assigned areas, communicate observations, and provide customer-focused service. The posted schedule is Monday and Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.22 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements depend on state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

X-ray screening experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Screen packages, cargo, personnel, and visitors in accordance with site procedures and applicable requirements.
Monitor screening equipment and access points, identify irregularities, and report concerns to appropriate site personnel.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the distribution location and perimeter, as assigned.
