Security Officer Part Time Security Screening

About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer in Chester, Virginia, you will safeguard clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. You will screen personnel and visitors, monitor access points, communicate professionally, and report security concerns. Your visible presence and attention to detail will help deter incidents while providing customer service. The role offers access to Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. The schedule is Thursday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM; Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM; and Sunday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification.
A Guard Card and/or license.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and delivery personnel by following site-specific screening procedures, policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Screen individuals, packages, and belongings using designated equipment and procedures; identify prohibited items and follow escalation protocols.
Verify access credentials, maintain visitor screening records, and direct individuals to appropriate entry points or site contacts.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities in accordance with site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and the surrounding business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
