As an Access Control Officer at a transportation location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and help address security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with integrity and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit points for vehicles, trailers, drivers, visitors, and authorized personnel; verify credentials and maintain required access records.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, vehicle and trailer areas, entry points, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Maintain clear, accurate daily activity logs, visitor records, and incident documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
