Security Officer Armed Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Patrol Officer to serve at a critical utilities location in Jacksonville, Florida. The officer will conduct routine and random armed patrols, monitor assigned areas, support access control, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. The role involves providing customer service and clear communication while working with a team, carrying out site-specific security procedures, and responding to emergencies. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.70 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Industry-specific security training is required. Licensing requirements vary according to applicable state and local laws and may need to be met before employment.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and the public by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and critical infrastructure to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials according to site procedures, and report unauthorized entry attempts or suspicious activity.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and patrol records.
