As a Security Officer Full Time Visitor Screening in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional at a retail and mall location, you will welcome visitors, manage access, respond to security-related inquiries, and maintain a visible, customer-focused presence. You will use communication and computer skills to support site operations, help deter incidents, and provide exceptional service. Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, tenants, shoppers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Serve as a professional front desk presence, greeting visitors, providing directions, answering routine inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
  • Monitor access to the location by verifying visitor credentials, following sign-in procedures, issuing visitor passes when applicable, and communicating access concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate contacts and document relevant details according to site procedures.
  • Observe front desk and lobby activity, report unusual or suspicious behavior, and help to deter unauthorized access through professional awareness and customer engagement.
