Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable use of a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, contractors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access policies, and emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Control access to the location by verifying credentials, monitoring entry points, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
  • Monitor access control systems, alarms, and cameras as assigned, reporting irregular activity and access concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, galleries, public areas, offices, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
