Security Officer Part Time Retail
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a retail location in Florence, Kentucky. This unarmed patrol role involves maintaining a visible presence, conducting routine patrols, helping deter security-related incidents, and providing customer service to shoppers and staff. The officer will communicate clearly, respond to security concerns, and help maintain a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a reliable approach. The position pays $17.68 per hour. The listed schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. Additional shifts may be available through Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing may be required prior to employment, depending on state and/or local laws and regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter boundaries.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, potential hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
- Assist with access control, monitor designated areas, and help deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity through a visible presence.
