About The Position

As a Security Officer in Northport, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility operations personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, unauthorized access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, buildings, substations, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report discrepancies according to site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately in required reports and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.
