About The Position

As a Security Officer Utilities Company in Northport, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, substations, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and/or potential hazards.
  • Monitor access to restricted utility infrastructure, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required access and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and communicating with appropriate personnel.
  • Report observations, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision in a timely manner.
