About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for an assigned site in Tampa, Florida. The role provides a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Hours may vary from part-time to as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The listed schedule is Sunday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and the pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and appropriate emergency response activities. Duties include checking authorization and recording facility access, helping secure food and beverage production, warehouse, and distribution areas, communicating unusual activity and incidents, and conducting facility and perimeter patrols.

Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable laws and regulations. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements if required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access-control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor, contractor, and employee authorization, and maintain accurate entry and exit records according to site procedures.
• Help control access to food and beverage production, warehouse, and distribution areas, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond calmly and with a problem-solving approach to incidents and critical situations, and communicate observations to appropriate site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
