About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Distribution Center to safeguard clients and serve across a range of industries and sites. The role offers hands-on experience in varied work environments and opportunities to build security skills and advance within the company. The position is based in Stockton, California, and pays $21.66 per hour. Work is 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary weekly and combine manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to meet client needs.

The Security Officer conducts patrols, monitors for security and safety concerns, controls access, responds to incidents and emergencies, maintains reports and logs, and assists customers, employees, and visitors. Candidates must be adaptable and dependable, with availability for varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as last-minute scheduling.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be willing to travel the required distance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
