About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for an unarmed patrol and access-systems role at a commercial real estate location in Ashburn, Virginia. The position provides a designated site and fixed weekly shift as a reliable base schedule, requiring a six-month commitment. The scheduled shift is Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The officer may claim additional shifts through a scheduling platform, with opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week and the option to scale back. The pay rate is $23.36 per hour.

The officer provides customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff while following security procedures and site-specific policies. Duties include responding to incidents and alarms, patrolling the property, monitoring access and visitors, and maintaining accurate reports and activity logs. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations; document observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and communicate access-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports, maintain accurate activity logs, and promptly communicate facility or security-related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
