About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for the security of hospital employees, patients and their families, visitors, and property. The role includes fire prevention and initial response measures, and maintaining safety practices in the assigned area. Officers must be able to communicate in English, follow written and oral instructions, make independent decisions when circumstances warrant, and interact tactfully with coworkers, patients, and visitors. They may work alone or as part of a team to manage aggressive or violent behavior through non-abusive physical intervention.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
Ability to read, write, and speak English in an understanding manner.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to deal tactfully with coworkers, patients, and visitors.
Ability to perform alone or as a team member in managing aggressive or violent behavior through non-abusive physical intervention.

Nice To Haves

Prior security experience preferred.
Prior hospital security experience preferred.
