About The Position
As a Security Officer supporting a government location in Leesburg, Virginia, you will safeguard the site by conducting armed patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and responding professionally to site needs. This driving post involves providing customer service and clear communication while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and integrity-driven culture. The position is part-time, with scheduled hours Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at a rate of $24.00 per hour.
Requirements
- At least two years of security-related experience.
- A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located; a valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
- An armed guard card or license.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience.
- Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and government personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned government facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, and assist with screening procedures in accordance with applicable post orders and security-related protocols.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, patrol activities, and security-related concerns.
