Security Officer - Overnights

About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for an overnight access-control role at a logistics and distribution location in Elwood, Illinois. The officer will help manage facility entry points, verify credentials and visitor access, monitor restricted areas, and maintain a visible security presence. The role also involves customer service, clear communication, responding to incidents, and conducting facility patrols. The stated pay rate is $19.85 per hour. The scheduled hours are 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Thursday through Sunday.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate access logs for employees, contractors, drivers, and deliveries.
Control access to loading docks, warehouse areas, and other restricted locations according to site policies.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts or emergency personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business perimeter, parking areas, and loading areas, and identify and report unusual activity or security concerns.
