About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Credential Services in Wilmington, Delaware, you will help safeguard a government transportation location. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and support security procedures while providing professional customer service to employees and visitors. The position uses technology to document activities and requires following site-specific policies and applicable security protocols. This is a full-time position with a listed pay rate of $20.48 per hour. The schedule is Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and Friday and Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorizations, and visitor documentation according to established procedures.
Control the entry and exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles; maintain accurate access-related logs; and report irregularities to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following site protocols and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, public areas, restricted areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
