As a Security Officer Full Time Screener in Somerset, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Screener with Allied Universal, you will help create a welcoming, controlled environment by screening individuals and/or items, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and team members, and help deter incidents through a visible, attentive presence. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or deliveries in accordance with established access-control and screening requirements.
• Inspect bags, packages, and other authorized items using assigned screening equipment and procedures, escalating prohibited or suspicious items as directed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
