As a Security Officer - Part Time - Overnights in East Dubuque, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help discourage incidents. In this role, you will support a welcoming environment through strong communication, customer service, teamwork, and integrity while handling important security-related responsibilities with agility, reliability, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual conditions in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns and documenting events according to site expectations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout production areas, administrative spaces, access points, and perimeter locations, noting and reporting suspicious activity and/or potential hazards.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or visitor access as directed, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Support emergency and incident response efforts by communicating with site contacts, first responders, and Allied Universal leadership, and completing required reports before the end of the shift.
