As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Contraband Screening in West Palm Beach, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Requirements

  • Possess at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, law enforcement personnel, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and policies at a government facility.
  • Screen individuals and belongings using designated screening equipment and established procedures, escalating prohibited items, access concerns, and unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Verify identification, credentials, and authorized access in accordance with post orders and facility requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports, and conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas and surrounding perimeter as directed.
