About The Position

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an upscale food market in New York, NY, you will safeguard the client and support a welcoming, orderly retail environment. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine and random patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service to shoppers, team members, and visitors. The role also supports access control and loss prevention efforts and may involve responding to emergencies according to site procedures. This is a full-time position paying $19.48 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 3:00 PM–10:30 PM; Thursday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; and Saturday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, as assigned.
Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and report observations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and escalation protocols.
Assist with access control and visitor interactions, and maintain a professional presence that helps deter unauthorized activity and supports an orderly shopping environment.
