As a Security Officer Patrol Monitor in Oakland, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic utilities location. In this role, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Security-related experience of 2 or more years is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials when required, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior in accordance with site protocols.
  • Support daily operations by completing assigned reports, maintaining awareness of utility infrastructure areas, and following post orders related to restricted zones and after-hours access.
