About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Patrol Monitoring in Albany, New York. The role provides reliable hours at an assigned retail site, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The designated weekly shift requires a six-month commitment, and additional shifts may be available at multiple sites. The position offers a path to a schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back.

The scheduled shift is Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour. The officer provides customer-focused security services, conducts unarmed patrols, responds to incidents, and reports suspicious activity and site concerns. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. New York State licensing requirements may apply.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate store personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and traffic flow while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence.
