About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location in Johnston, Rhode Island. The role involves routine patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, helping deter security-related incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. The officer communicates clearly, responds to site needs, and provides dependable customer service while reflecting the company’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

The schedule is Monday and Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.18 per hour. Employees can use the company’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel while following site-specific security procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, observe activity, and report unusual conditions to help deter unauthorized entry.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations while following established emergency response activities.
• Accurately document patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
