About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed patrol officer for a retail location in Roanoke, Virginia. The officer will safeguard clients, shoppers, and store associates by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, providing customer service, and communicating observations and incidents. This is a driving position and requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. The listed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen as permitted by law. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; required for driving positions.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and assist with emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter.
Monitor for suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, property damage, and potential hazards, and report observations according to site policies.
Maintain activity logs and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership, Allied Universal supervision, and responding authorities as appropriate.
