Security Officer- Full Time (Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino)
About The Position
The Security Officer protects company assets and helps provide a safe environment for employees and guests at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. The role involves enforcing security regulations, guarding money transfers, patrolling casino areas, identifying safety hazards and security breaches, and carrying out other security-related duties. Security Officers may provide first-response medical assistance, including first aid, CPR, and AED use, and conduct investigations when directed by the Security Supervisor. The position requires maintaining confidentiality, following company and regulatory policies, and representing the company professionally.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid ID.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with coworkers as part of a team.
- Well-groomed appearance.
- Honesty and trustworthiness.
- Good attendance record.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Clean motor vehicle record, subject to verification before employment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test, including testing for illegal drugs restricted by state or federal law and unlawful medication.
- Ability to pass the physical test of CPR training within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino and to run.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds in each hand at the same time for short distances and assist in moving heavy carts.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, regardless of weather conditions.
- Ability to push heavy loads; bend, reach, kneel, twist, grip, stoop, and crouch.
- Ability to work independently, remain alert and observant, and monitor radio traffic in a noisy casino environment.
- Ability to be firm yet polite when necessary and exercise good judgment in adverse situations.
- Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace and respond to visual, olfactory, and aural cues.
- Ability to work in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Enforce company security regulations.

- Initiate and conduct investigations when necessary under the direction of the Security Supervisor.

- Serve as a role model and present oneself as a credit to Harrah’s, encouraging others to do the same.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
