About The Position

The Heavy Duty Cleaner cleans and maintains the appearance of the casino’s back-of-house and public areas, including restrooms, to provide a fresh, clean environment for guests and employees. The role performs routine and deep cleaning throughout the property, cares for floors, furnishings, gaming equipment, fixtures, and other surfaces, and operates heavy-duty cleaning equipment. The cleaner may also assist with guest-room duties or emergency cleanup when requested and reports areas requiring maintenance or additional attention.

Requirements

Knowledge of floor machines and cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, shampoos, strippers, and waxes.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently.

Ability to tolerate varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and areas with secondhand smoke.

Responsibilities

Vacuum carpeted areas.
Clean and empty trash cans and ashtrays.
Complete deep-cleaning projects to maintain walls, doors, floors, machines, furniture, windows, fixtures, and equipment.
Sweep and mop tile, brick, concrete, and other hard surfaces.
Detail-clean gaming equipment and devices from top to bottom.
Detail-clean restrooms using a low-pressure cleaning machine.
Perform guest-room attendant duties in emergency situations when requested.
Operate heavy-duty equipment, including carpet extractors, pressure washers, auto scrubbers, golf carts, and automatic pool-cleaning equipment.
Shampoo carpeted areas using a carpet extraction machine.
Clean furniture, machines, chair bases, soiled fabrics, signage, light fixtures, vents, and bar mats.
Shampoo gaming tables as assigned.
Strip and wax VCT floors as assigned.
Operate a hydraulic lift as needed for high-cleaning tasks.
Remove gum from carpet and other hard surfaces.
Polish metal stanchions as needed.
Identify and report property areas requiring maintenance or cleanliness attention.
Move, rearrange, and clean furniture.
Deliver items to hotel guestrooms as requested.
Clean up excess water from hotel guestrooms and corridors in emergency situations when required.
Follow regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures ethically.
Perform other duties as assigned.
