About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring walking patrol security officers in Center City Philadelphia. The role involves safeguarding clients across a range of industries and conducting patrols on foot or by vehicle. Officers may need to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice, and must be able to stand and walk outdoors for the entire shift. Morning and evening shifts are available, with full-time and part-time schedules. Weekend availability is required. The position pays $19.13 per hour, with weekly pay and an option to get paid the same day worked.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age, or older if required by the state.
• Must be able to stand and walk outdoors for the entire shift.
• Must have weekend availability.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Must meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Must have a valid driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Must demonstrate the ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Must have active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Must demonstrate reliability, adaptability to different post assignments, teamwork, and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removals meet client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
