About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for an assigned site in Austin, Texas. The role provides a fixed weekly afternoon shift as an anchor schedule, requiring a six-month commitment. The officer may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, with the option to increase hours up to 40 per week or scale back as needed. The position pays $21.63 per hour and serves a technology, media, and telecommunications location.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, data-center-adjacent areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter; identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Monitor access activity and verify credentials according to site procedures, escalating unauthorized access attempts or concerns.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established reporting and communication protocols.
• Complete activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications.
