About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for driving patrols at a busy retail shopping location in San Jose, California. The role serves and safeguards shoppers, tenants, visitors, and employees by conducting patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing customer service. The position requires a valid driver’s license and compliance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. The listed schedule is Friday and Saturday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM, at a rate of $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, depending on state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and location-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the shopping center, including common areas, parking areas, exterior walkways, and perimeter locations.
Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, maintenance concerns, and unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents, customer concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
Assist with access control, traffic and parking guidance, and tenant and visitor support while helping deter unauthorized activity.
