About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across industries including healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The role provides experience across a variety of sites and may support career advancement within Allied Universal.

The position is scheduled for 30–40 hours per week. The schedule varies week to week and combines manager-assigned shifts with shifts picked up through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and the officer may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The position is based in New York, NY, and pays $18.87 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be willing to travel required distances.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
