Security Officer Entrance Screening
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer Entrance Screening in Taftville, Connecticut, serving a retail location. The officer will help provide a welcoming and secure environment through access control, entry-point monitoring, verification of authorized access, and a visible security presence. The role emphasizes customer service and clear communication with visitors and team members, while supporting a workplace culture that values agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity. The position pays $17.75 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; at least 21 years old for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to customers, associates, and visitors by following site-specific procedures and access-control policies, and conducting emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor access points, verify visitor and vendor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations; communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, receiving areas, sales-floor access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Accurately document incidents, unusual conditions, and access-control activity according to site-specific procedures.
