About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a biotechnology company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In this healthcare and biotechnology setting, the officer will help safeguard clients, patients, visitors, and staff by maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, patrolling assigned areas, and providing customer service. The role involves responding to incidents and emergencies, following site-specific procedures, and communicating observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision. The schedule is Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The starting pay is $30.85 per hour. Paid orientation and paid training are provided.
Requirements
- Possess a college degree.
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; the posting also states that candidates must be 21 or older.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures, reporting access concerns and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, medical-related emergencies, and critical situations while following established protocols.
- Prepare accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
